Giant Swallowtails (Papilio cresphontes).
This is the largest species of butterfly in the US. One unique thing about them is that their caterpillars do not have an effective defense against birds— so they developed camouflage to resemble bird poop!
These specimens died of natural causes. They were sourced from the butterfly house where my partner worked.
6" x 6" wood canvas panel.
Comes strung with picture wire for hanging.
