Isabella’s Longwings (Eueides isabella).

To help evade predators, this species has evolved Batesian mimicry: defined as the similarity of palatable prey to an unpalatable species. These yummy-tasting butterflies mimic the colors and behavior of toxic species.

Died of natural causes. These specimens are from the butterfly house where my partner used to work.

5” x 5” wood canvas panel.
Comes strung with picture wire for hanging.
