Rice Paper Trio
This butterfly is a close relative of the Monarch, but native to Asia and Australia. Like the Monarch, the caterpillars feed on toxic plants which make them taste terrible.
These specific specimens actually came from a butterfly house my partner used to work at. That's how my arthropod art actually began- we both worked at a science museum. We sometimes were allowed to take home dead specimens for our personal collection. The largest butterfly in this piece is over 5" from wingtip to wingtip!
This piece is unframed and measures 10" x 10." Comes strung with picture hanging wire.
