The green caterpillars of Hebomoia masquerade as vine snakes to keep danger at bay. They have orange and blue markings on their heads to mimic the eye of the vine snake, and they have the ability make their head appear larger. This caterpillar can even spit green fluid to be more intimidating.

Source of the photo is an article about how several different species of caterpillars have evolved to mimic snakes! You can read that here: https://reasonandnature.com/2022/04/10/caterpillars-mimicking-snakes/

This piece is 5" x 5," and is unframed. Comes strung with picture hanging wire.
